Period Living - “Island Hopping”

“On the shelf
In open-plan kitchens, islands often bridge cooking and entertaining spaces. When this is the case, incorportating lifestyle elements can help to unify the two areas. "In this kitchen, we made sure to hang the pendants high enough so as not to block the sightlines between the two sides of the room. We also chose to keep a large part of the front-facing side of the island as open shelving to avoid it feeling like too much of a block," explains Sophie Pringle, creative director and founder at Pringle & Pringle Interior Design.”
